Aviya Aerospace Systems today announced organizational changes, effective April 5th, 2016, to more closely align and strengthen its continued growth in aerospace systems capabilities.

The company continues to execute on a strategic roadmap to enhance its capabilities in the area of aerospace system development and certification. Today’s announcement further reinforces and accelerates this strategy.

John Koumoundouros will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Basile Papaevangelou will assume the role of business advisor to the organization.

Billings Chan will continue in his role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Louis Brown will assume an expanded leadership role with the appointment as President & Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Joseph Sum will assume the role of a newly created position, Vice President, NexGen Systems. Joseph’s role will be to spearhead Aviya’s extensive R&D program with an emphasis on driving commercialization of technologies in the Closed Loop Bench and avionics controller area.

Baktash Hamzehloo will assume the role of Vice President, Engineering.

Paul Kuwik will assume the role of Director, Business Development.

The organization’s Process and Quality function has expanded with increased responsibility and visibility with additional internal appointments and a wider mandate.

To drive higher levels of customer satisfaction, the Chief Engineer Office has been created with the internal appointment of Chief Engineer, Certification and Chief Engineer, Electronic Hardware. The Chief Engineer Office will work closely with our customers and Business Development organization as the interface to the engineering group to ensure realization of technical and certification requirements.
